Old Art Redraw - Salamander

I'm not entirely satisfied with this, mainly because I started drawing it a good bunch of months ago. That's never good for me - I improve at things and then have to fix stuff when I come back to the picture. Generally that means I get frustrated and half-arse sections, which happened here quite a lot. I redrew the head again, and touched up the lineart in places but there's still weird squiffiness in the anatomy and the trident doesn't look as nice as I'd like. And as mentioned, I only touched the lineart up in places, most of it is still from the start of the redraw and it's not as tidy as it could be.

BUT STILL! I'm really pleased with shading on parts of this, and although I've done lots of pictures since using that technique, this is the first thing I trialled the 'apply shadow all over, remove shadow to make the highlights' technique on. I've got a bit better at doing it since this, but it feels like a good enough first attempt. And I'm really happy with the chest plates and stomach area, that's probably the best belly I've ever drawn. So yay for the up-side!
